Part 6 sees a return to a wider sphere of action and events, but it is notable that many of these involve Svidrigailov rather than Raskolnikov, and the walk the former takes (marked in red), culminating in his suicide, seems to continue Raskolnikov’s walks from parts 1 and 2. Meanwhile Raskoliknov resumes his habit of walking to peripheral areas of the city, but conforming to the pattern established in the previous two parts, we do not follow him and are given no information on the routes he took, and only the barest details of where he ends up. But while the form of the telling has changed, parallels with the walks that take Raskolnikov out of the centre in the earlier parts are apparent.
